Dear Members,I hope you are all doing well and starting to enjoy slightly sunnier Spring days with your black beauties! As you do, please don’t forget to take some gorgeous photos and send these over to Simone at events@nzfhs.co.nz for our 2026 Calendar! We can’t wait to see them! After the last few years on the Board, and many many more years being such an integral part of the NZFHS, we are having to say good-bye to our wonderful Registrar, Marianne Weitenberg. We have had the most amazing time working together with Marianne, and know she will still very much be a part of this family. We wish you the most fulfilling time pursuing your other passions and projects, Marianne! As such, the Board is looking to find an interim Registrar to start from the end of October. Please submit your interest for the Board’s consideration by the 20th October. In line with our Constitution, the Board will then vote to elect the interim role holder. At next year’s AGM, we will have a society-wide vote to formally elect our Registrar, so the interim Registrar can either continue in their role or someone else can step into those shoes.Registrar RoleThe Registrar is responsible for:• All tasks related to the registration of Friesian Horses in New Zealando Registration of newly imported horseo Distributing Breeding Certificates to stallion owners with permits (received fromKFPS)o Forwarding breeding certificates to the KFPS (received from stallion owners)o Forwarding birth notifications forms (received from KFPS) to mare ownerswww.nzfhs.co.nzo Forwarding completed birth notifications (received from mare owners) to the KFPSo Forwarding microchip/DNA to the KFPS for issue of registration paper (whenreceived from foal ownerso Forwarding registration papers (received from the KFPS) to owner of newlyregisteredo Recording all of the above in the NZFHS database• Providing breeding info to secretary/newsletter editor/president for distribution tomembers• Providing specific info/advice to member(s) in relation to breeding in New Zealand• Providing information to secretary and/or Keuring coordinator for publication of Keuringprogram (in the year of a Keuring)• Tracking/Troubleshooting paperwork and requesting action if required• Providing report at the AGM• Delegating NZ registrations for mailing etc. to VP• Providing details on registrations etc. to be invoiced to TreasurerHave a fantastic rest of your week, everyone!Warm regards,Anna Zhigareva and the NZFHS Board ... Hi, everyone! Please remember to submit your favourite photos for our 2026 Friesian Horse calendar! There are just a few criteria that need to be met! Submitted photos must be:• in high definition (so they don't come out blurry when printed)• your own (or have permission from the photographer to be used for this calendar)• without watermarks or photographer logos (ideally)• of our NZ-based Friesian Horses!✨Please submit these for consideration to our Promotion Officer, Simone du Bernard, at events@nzfhs.co.nz by the 20th October (deadline has been extended)!✨We will be taking orders with pre-payment until the end of the month, so get in quick by e-mailing events@nzfhs.co.nz to secure yourself some calendars. They will be sold at $25 per calendar + postage. ... See MoreSee Less
